Dearly Beloved, We are here today to join Kurt and Jill in
the bonds of holy matrimony, which is an honorable estate, not
to be taken unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently, discreetly,
and in the love of God, into which estate these two persons
present come now to be joined.
Please face each other and
join hands.
Kurt, will you have this woman
to be your wedded wife, to live together in the holy estate of
matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her,
in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, keep thee
only unto her so long as you both shall live?
Jill, will you have this man
to be your wedded husband, to live together in the holy estate
of matrimony? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep
him, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, keep
thee only unto him so long as you both shall live?
Kurt, repeat after me to your
bride please.
I, Kurt , take thee
Jill ,/ to be my wedded wife,/ to have and to hold,/ from this
day forward,/ for better, for worse,/ for richer, for poorer,/
in sickness and in health,/ to love and to cherish,/ as long as
we both shall live.
Jill, repeat after me to your
groom please.
I, Jill, take thee Kurt / to
be my wedded husband,/ to have and to hold,/ from this day
forward/ for better, for worse,/ for richer, for poorer/ in
sickness and in health,/ to love and to cherish/ as long as we
both shall live.
From earliest time, the ring
has been a symbol of wedded love. It is the perfect
circle to symbolize the unending love you promise.
Kurt, take the ring you have
chosen. Place it on Jill’s finger and say these words to
her.
Jill , I give you this ring/
as a symbol of our vows,/ and with all that I am,/ and all that
I have,/ I honor you./ With this ring,/ I thee wed.
Jill, take the ring you have
chosen. Place it on Kurt’s finger and say these words to
him.
Kurt , I give you this ring/
as a symbol of our vows,/ and with all that I am/ and all that
I have,/ I honor you./ With this ring./ I thee wed.
Corinthians 13 (4-8)
Love is patient, love is
kind, it does not envy, it does not boast. It is not proud, it
is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it keeps no record of
wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the
truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres. Love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends, love
never fails.
Let us pray. We thank you,
Lord, that you have brought Kurt and Jill together in love and
promise. So in Your loving kindness, bless their years together
with hope, care, and guidance, that they may share the burdens
and trials, endure the hardships, and find comfort in each
others’ love and laughter. Each day may they know the joy of
being in Your love, and in each other’s love. For as they have
said their vows, may your grace seal their words and their
commitments in their hearts and minds with all love. For
this is our prayer in God’s name. Amen.
What, therefore, God has
joined together, let no man put asunder, For as much as Kurt
and Jill have consented together in holy matrimony and have
witnessed the same before God and this company, and have
declared the same by the joining and the giving the rings I,
therefore by the authority vested in me, pronounce you husband
and wife.
Congratulations, you may kiss
the bride.
May I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Kruger.
