Get Married In Charleston
There are so many beautiful locations in Charleston in which to get married that the hardest part will be deciding which one suits you best. All of these locations can be easily searched; we’ve included links to many.
Carriage Marriage
Consider a “carriage marriage.” A horse-drawn carriage for just the two of you can be hired to take you to the gazebo at White Point Garden or other location on their prescribed routes. We like Palmetto Carriage and Old South Carriage companies. We will also marry you on the carriage. See Palmetto Carriage or Old South Carriage.
Parks & Gardens
Contact Charleston City Parks & Recreation (843-724-7327) to make a reservation at some of our beautiful parks, including the Pineapple Fountain at Waterfront Park, the gazebo at White Point Garden, the gazebo at Hampton Park, the Angel Oak Tree and others.
Marriage on the Charleston Waterfront
Waterfront locations include Waterfront Park and White Point Garden. Folly Beach and Sullivan’s Island are the most wedding-friendly of the area beaches. On Isle of Palms, the Exchange Club can be rented, it overlooks Hamlin Creek and a huge expanse of marsh. The Outboard Motor Club has a large hall and outdoor area, perfect for oyster roasts or barbecues, called Gold Bug Island. Wonderful water views. Alhambra Hall in Mount Pleasant is another popular location.
Indoor & Plantation Settings
Magnolia and Middleton plantations offer wedding packages, but aren’t suited to very small events. Boone Hall also offers a rustic location on the water.
Simple Ceremonies
Simple Ceremony One $100 - Simple wedding ceremony in our office between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. You may bring up to 6 (six) guests.
Simple Ceremony Two $200 - Simple wedding ceremony in our office after 4:00 p.m or on a Saturday (9:00 am-5:00 pm). You may bring up to 6 (six) guests.
Beach Ceremonies
Beach Ceremony One $300 - Wedding Ceremony on one of the following beaches: Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, or Sullivan's Island.
Beach Ceremony Two $400 - Wedding ceremony at Kiawah or Seabrook resorts
Other Ceremonies
Plantation Ceremonies $250 - Wedding Ceremony at Magnolia or Middleton Plantations
Whimsical Ceremony $150/hour - Skydiving, Scuba diving, horseback, dinner cruises or other whimsical locations are generally quoted at $150/hour. However, we strongly recommend you call us to verify.
Same Day & License Only
Same Day Ceremony $100 - Same day wedding ceremony (must have marriage license) in our office between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. You may bring up to 6 (six) guests.
Marriage License Only $100 - Marriage license only, completed at our office with no ceremony, on weekdays from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. You and your groom must obtain your South Carolina marriage license from any county in the State. We are not allowed to issue marriage licenses. An appointment is necessary. Sunday Ceremony +$50 - Sunday Charleston wedding ceremony adds $50 to the quoted price.
Custom Ceremony or Event QUOTE - Complex, custom events will be quoted upon request.
Wedding Rehearsal VARIES - Rehearsal for the wedding (one hour block) calculated as 1/2 of the wedding fee.
We book our weddings with great care to assure enough time between ceremonies for travel, etc. You MUST be on time for your ceremony or you may inconvenience another bride and groom.
There is a $50 per half hour late fee unless you have notified us 24 hours prior to the wedding of your intent to change the time AND we are able to accommodate that change. We will make every effort to help.
